United Way of the Midlands Announces 2015 Blueprint for Leadership Graduates

Columbia, S.C. – United Way of the Midlands recognized 19 emerging community leaders during the 2015 Blueprint for Leadership Gradation, held recently at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

United Way’s Blueprint for Leadership program is a professional development course aimed at preparing diverse groups of individuals for volunteer leadership in the nonprofit sector.

During the 10-week program, participants attend workshops on a variety of topics including nonprofit law, the roles and responsibilities of board members, strategic leadership, best practices in programs and nonprofit governance.

“Blueprint is unique because it is the only professional development course in the Midlands with a specific focus on nonprofit board leadership,” said Mac Bennett, President and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “Blueprint graduates have the leadership skills, nonprofit governance expertise and knowledge of our community that will allow them to serve the Midlands more effectively.”
