The Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival

Hopkins, SC – The Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival & Parade is back again for the 31st year, to bring the community and families together on Saturday, April 30th. The fun takes place at Hopkins Park at 6940 Lower Richland Blvd from 11am to 6pm. Admission is FREE and the parade begins at 11am.

The family-friendly event is an opportunity to give back to the community and enjoy a health fair, free carnival rides, and live musical entertainment from local high schools and the Benedict College Marching Band. A wide variety of vendors will be present. The featured guest of the day is the renowned gospel entertainer Doc McKenzie and the Hi-Lites and other performers include the following:

· Flossie Boyd-Johnson & Favor
· Jeff & Sheri Easter
· Women Of Strength
· Tevin Campbell (local artist)
· The Gospel Reedemers
· The Heavenly Aires
· Bible Way Praise Team
· Bible Way Mimes
· Kristen Garner
· Johnny Gause (Sounds like Singer Sam Cooke)
· Praise dancers from Mt Moriah, Zion Benevolent, St. John, Zion Pilgrim and Word Of Truth

The festival is made possible with the support of local businesses including Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Chick-fil-a at 7424 Garners Ferry Road, and funded by the Richland County Hospitality Tax Fund.
