“The Day In Between”
Written by Rev. Nicky Wilson, Pastor for Youth, Teens and Young Adults, Brookland Baptist Church
In an effort to encourage and strengthen believers in the faith at home and elsewhere, I was led of the spirit to encourage the house hold of faith to “Get Up” just as Jesus got up over 2,000 years ago. So the Lord gave me a message titled “The Day In Between.” We all are familiar with the story of the tragedy on Friday, the day when Jesus was crucified, died and was buried, then was placed in Joseph’s new tomb. He stayed there all day Friday, Saturday, and as the record bears, He rose early Sunday morning with all power in His hand. However, for some reason or another too many believers find themselves stuck on the day in-between – that hopeless Saturday – in the tomb with nowhere to go. It may be the private pain of your past that’s impeding your ability to Get Up. Although He has gotten up, far too many of us have not allowed Him to rise in us, our circumstances, conditions and calamities.
Perhaps, your present position is dictating the rhythm of your progress. You may be frustrated with where you are; feeling as if Sunday will never come. But Jesus said in His words “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” Further, Jeremiah 29:11-13 states, “I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord to give you a hope and a future.” So Get Up and Live.
Last, we are encouraged and energized by the Power of His Promise. The Power of His Promise not only gives us the authority but it gives us the strength to get up from where we are and move to where the Lord is calling us to be. “Stand Up” as the Scriptures have mandated that we must “Stand” and having done all to “Stand” – “Stand.” Even in the face of adversities and life’s difficulties – the Power of His Promise helps us to Get Up and Stand!!!
