Tending the Garden of Your Heart

Dr. Jed N. Snyder

Luke 6:45

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Everything I Ever Needed to Know, I Learned in My Garden is the title of my recently released book. The process of caring for a garden and reaping the fruits and vegetables from it, can easily be compared with important lessons for daily living. (Let me know if you would like a signed copy in return for a donation to Jesus Every Day Ministries).

Our Lord states that we speak from what is within. We live out who we are inwardly. So, it is critically important to be “healthy” in our inner life. How we are will be seen by how we live.

If your heart is under-nourished, then feed it on God’s Word and related good food. If your heart-garden is tired, find rest from the Heavenly Father. (God designed life to have a day in seven for rest.) If you don’t have a relationship with God, to get one will be vital to heart-health. If your heart-garden is diseased, you should look to the Heavenly Father, he is the Great Physician. Counselors may help but real health for your heart is from him. Are you familiar with this special invitation?

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Your heart-garden will not take care of itself. You must make choices. The greatest choice is in humility and desire to choose to come to the Heavenly Father by way of his loving Son, Jesus Christ. Remember that glorious verse.

For God so loved the world that he gave his uniquely born Son… John 3:16

Happy tending your heart-garden in good health.
