What Sort of Man Is This?
Dr. Jed Snyder
Have you ever asked yourself that question? What sort of man is this? How can He calmly control the raging storm on the lake? And how can He control the evil spirit, the demon that was destroying the life of the “wild man” who lived in the cemetery? Please read and wonder at the miracle-worker!
When Jesus got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?” Matthew 8:23-27
When you absorb these words, you certainly can examine your own faith. Who is Jesus Christ? Can I, should I, trust Him?
Perhaps you will realize that your answer to such reasoning will reveal a good deal about yourself. Do I believe the Bible is actually true? Did these miracles actually occur? If Jesus of Nazareth was a miracle worker then, what does that mean to me today? Does he still work miracles? Can I trust Him to act in my situation? From where does He get such power? How does He know when to apply His power? Should I expect a miraculous healing? Should I expect Him to find money like He did in the mouth of the fish?
What sort of man is He?
I hope you will happily sort out your answer to this important question.
