SOLICITOR’S SIDEBAR: KERSHAW COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONDUCT AND IS IMPRISONED FOR 20 YEARS
Kershaw, SC – During the second day of his jury trial in Kershaw County, Johnathan Goad pled guilty to criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree.
Opening statements in the case were made Monday, June 2nd. The victim took the stand and after her two hours of testimony, Goad decided to plead guilty as charged for the sexual assault, which occurred from 2007 until 2008.
Judge Robert Hood accepted the defendant’s plea and he was sentenced to the maximum penalty of 20 years for criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree. Goad will be placed on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life.
