Sheriff Announces New Mission and Vision for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is proud to announce that the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has renewed its mission and vision on how we intend to serve the great citizens of Richland County . Sheriff Leon Lott states that the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has always and will always make being proactive and effectively serving the citizens of Richland County our main priorities. However, in order to be successful in our endeavors and improve our department and our communities, it is imperative to change along with our ever changing world. Given that, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department will continue to effectively serve our communities under a new and improved vision and mission.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that after careful consideration and numerous input from throughout the department, the new vision of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department is, “Enriching community trust through high standards of excellence.” The new mission statement will now read as, “It is our mission, as trusted public servants, to prevent crime and the fear of crime by providing excellence in law enforcement services, accountability and connections with our communities.” In addition, the Sheriff has also set forth new values of which each deputy and non-sworn personnel will be held to every day, which are “A passion for service, integrity, accountability, and professionalism.” Sheriff Leon Lott stated that with recent events curbing society’s views on law enforcement, it is as important as ever to ensure our citizen’s that we are here to serve and protect them; the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and all of it’s employees are held to higher standards of which our citizen’s can agree and trust in.

Sheriff Leon Lott added that he is excited for these changes to positively affect and enhance our community policing method, as well as our relationship among our communities as a whole. Sheriff Leon Lott and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are committed to enriching our community trust and creating an unstoppable force against crime through the entire great county of Richland . The Sheriff will continue to build Unity in the Community which has been his platform, and has been a big part of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s success in Richland County .
