Allen University Film Screening and Discussion Series
The AU Pre-Alumni Council and Office of Alumni Affairs at Allen University would like to invite the community to attend our Screening of the documentary: “13TH” and a Discussion Panel on March 6th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The reason for this event is to help the students and attendees to understand more about Americas systems of incarceration, more specifically how it affects people of color.
The panel, titled Black Justice will focus on the topics of Mass Incarceration as Replacement for Slavery, African American Portrayed as Criminals and how Corporate Interests Shape the Prison Population. As a result, it is an opportunity to educate students/attendees on the impact of de-humanizing African-Americans and the influence in our communities it holds.
