Columbia, SC – South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has funds available from the Federal Transit Authority to support public and human services transportation within South Carolina. Private nonprofit organizations, states or local government authorities, and operators of public transportation are eligible to apply.
The Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individual with Disabilities (FAST Act) (Rural and Small Urbanized Areas) – Section 5310 grant supports transportation services that meet the special transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. It aims to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation service and expanding transportation mobility options.
The grant is to be used to preserve and protect existing projects, and implement new projects, especially in minority communities.
