RICHLAND LIBRARY PRESENTS 2020 VOLUNTEER AWARDS

Valued Members of Our Team Receive Special Recognition for Their Service

Columbia, SC– Richland Library is honoring the dedication and support of our volunteers.

Please join us in congratulating the following valued members of our team, who are receiving special recognition and an award for their service during fiscal year 2020:

Adult Volunteers of the Year

Teen Volunteers of the Year

Youth Volunteers of the Year

In addition, we’re remembering the life of a former volunteer who worked with the Richland Library Friends and Foundation’s quarterly book sales and as a Richland Library ambassador. Bob Stutts is receiving a posthumous honor and entering Richland Library’s Hall of Fame. To receive a nomination, a volunteer must reach 1,500 hours of service, 15 years of service or demonstrate exceptional volunteerism.

Volunteers are the heart of what we do, giving their time and skills to further the library’s mission of helping customers to learn, create and share. During fiscal year 2020, almost 400 volunteers served 13 library locations and the Richland Library Operations Center. They provided more than 10,000 hours of service, and the monetary value of their service was around $232,000. Their impact on our organization and the entire community is invaluable.
