Rev. Dr. Solomon Jackson will be honored with a special presentation of Four of Our Great Men of Leadership and Servants of God at half-time of the Palmetto Capital City Classic football game between Benedict and Fort Valley State on Sunday, September, 23, 2018.

Rev. Dr. Jackson has pastored at several locations throughout the Midlands. He is the current and founding pastor of Solomon’s Temple in Columbia, South Carolina.

Through his philanthropy efforts, Rev. Dr. Jackson has supported many educational institutions and charities throughout the state of South Carolina. He has made gifts to the South Carolina State Museum for their 4D Interactive Theater that was named in his honor. This theater is the only permanent theater of its kind in the state. Many educational institutions have benefited from his generosity, including Morris College, University of South Carolina, Benedict College, Claflin University, South Carolina State University, Allen University, and Midlands Technical College. Through his donations, the schools have been able to build new student housing and administrative buildings, provide transportation, renovate the Booker T. Washington Auditorium, and provide student scholarships for the future through endowments. Additionally, he has supported Palmetto Health through the newly remodeled Joyce Martin Hampton Behavioral Health Center.

Rev. Dr. Jackson currently serves on the board of trustees at Benedict College, Morris College, the Midlands Technical College Foundation, and the South Carolina State Museum Foundation. He was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the current Midlands Technical College Alumni Association. He is also a proud member and sponsor of the 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia.
