REEMERGE HVAC TRAINING GRADUATION

WHAT:           REEMERGE HVAC TRAINING GRADUATION 

A graduation ceremony for six (6) REEMERGE program participants who have completed an HVAC training program offered in partnership with Midlands Technical College and with assistance from SC Works (a South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce effort).

WHO:             REEMERGE and MIDLANDS TECHNICAL COLLEGE

REEMERGE is a re-entry program for the formerly incarcerated that uses employment, coaching, expungement and entrepreneurship education to assist in combating the barriers of reentry. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency and administered through DESA, Inc. (in Richland and Lexington counties).  

The HVAC training component of the program is provided by Midlands Technical College (MTC).  It is an intensive 24-week program taught at MTC’s Airport Campus that consists of four phases: HVAC electrical operation and diagnostics, HVAC refrigeration cycle operation, heat pump operations and diagnostics and air flow design and measurement.  Upon completion of their training, program participants will join HVAC companies in the Midlands.  REEMERGE has partnered with local second chance employers to provide job opportunities for all program participants who have completed the training.

WHERE:          Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College, 7300 College Street, Irmo, SC
