We are eagerly excited to be hosting a major event which will bring awareness to Sexual Assault Survivors and provide resources for those who need help for themselves or a friend. The Re-Discover ME S. A. S PANTY DRIVE ZOOM-A-THON will be held on April 10th, 2021 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and streamed through Facebook. This event will include entertainment, poetry, roundtable talks, keynote speaker, and Survivor Speakers and Tribute.
Re-Discover ME Women Initiative is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2016 to provide professional supportive services to women and teen girls affected by abuse, trauma, and mental health concerns. Our aim is to engage, educate, and inspire change in which survivors are empowered to rediscover the “ME” she strives to be.
Studies show that every 98 seconds someone is sexually assaulted. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 10 men experience sexually harassed in the workplace. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of sexual violence by an intimate partner and since January 2018, and The National Sexual Trauma Hotline receives over 8,000 calls.
Re-Discover ME will serve as resource for survivors in our communities and as a training tool for community leaders and organizations. If you would like to volunteer or be a community resource, contact Dr. Juanita Britt McDonald at email@example.com.
Dr. McDonald holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanitarian Arts, a Master’s Degree in Change Leadership and Minor in Human Behavior, registered as a Victim Service Provider for the state of South Carolina and certified as a Girl Circle Facilitator through the Department of Social Services, and Author of the Mental Safety Plan Journal.
