PEACE IS ON THE WAY!!!
Written by Reverend James A. Jamison, Assistant Pastor, Brookland Baptist Church:
We know that many are hurting right now, struggling to understand the grief that is the result of the loss of a loved one is causing so much pain. A touching eulogy has been delivered, visits and calls from friends are dwindling, yet the tears continue to fall and the heartache you feel is paralyzing your body.
As a Christian, you can hear the sayings of your elders playing on repeat in your head: “God doesn’t make mistakes,” “He takes only the best,” and “You will understand better by and by.” But the days are turning into weeks and the weeks into months and you just can’t snap out of it. Some days it just seems to much to bear.
Take comfort my brothers and sisters, the Lord knows the desires of your heart, He knows the pain you feel and most importantly He will be true to His word and send you THE Comforter. He will provide you a peace that surpasses your earthly understanding if you keep trusting and believing in His word. Keep praying and know the instructions from Revelations 21:4 are true – He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
There is an end in sight to your mourning and your pain because He made sure that Psalm 30:5 was recorded for this time in our lives- Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Grieving is a process and praise be to God, there is hope
It may seem that you just can’t get your prayer through, but talk to Him throughout the day. You may not be able to shout Hallelujah in your grief right now, but you can wave your hand. The tears may be soaking your pillow but you can whisper a Thank You Jesus.
Allow yourself to grieve because it is a natural for humans that experience a loss and take comfort, find peace, rest assured that your PEACE is on the way.
