‘NOTHING BUT NET’ Charity basketball game features Richland One vs. Richland Two

Teams from Richland One and Richland Two will engage in some friendly competition for a good cause in the second annual Nothing But Net charity basketball game.

Proceeds will benefit the Palmetto Health Breast Center through the Palmetto Health Foundation’s Walk for Life/Race for Life. The game, which had to be postponed due to the flood, will be played Thursday, January 7 at 6:00 p.m. at W.J. Keenan High School.

Tickets are $5 for ages 6 and up; children under 6 will be admitted free. Nothing But Net will feature a breast cancer survivor celebration/recognition presentation, a mascot line dancing competition and a free throw shooting contest.

At last year’s inaugural event, Richland One raised the most funds and won the free throw contest. The Richland Two team won the basketball challenge by two points, earning bragging rights and a trophy to display at its district office. In the end, “Team Richland,” a joint effort of both districts, raised nearly $100,000 to support the Palmetto Health Breast Center and help fight breast cancer.

Tickets for Nothing But Net may be purchased at the Richland One and Richland Two district offices, and they will be sold at the door. All tickets that were purchased prior to the flood will be honored. For more information, contact Dr. Traci Young Cooper at 231-6842 or at .
