COLUMBIA, SC— The Makings of a Man Foundation and Concerned Black Men of Columbia have partnered again to host the 2nd Annual Making Tracks For Manhood 5K. The event will be held at Martin Luther King Park (2300 Greene Street, Columbia SC 29205) on September 19, 2014 at 8:00AM, rain or shine. Registration for the 5K race is $25. Participants are asked to register by September 9, 2015 to ensure they receive a race t-shirt.

The Board of Directors and Concerned Black Men are both involved in the Greater Columbia community through mentoring and community service. The two organizations have partnered for the past 3 years in hosting the Principles of Manhood Symposium; an event designed to introduce young men to successful men in the community who come from the same backgrounds as they do.

“It’s important model good character for young men, but we also need to model good physical health,” said Michael Holoman of The Board of Directors. “With this 5K race, we want to put some emphasis on being physically fit in addition to being mentally fit.”

Registration is open to all men, women, and children who would like to participate.
