Martha Munizzi Confirmed as Feature Act for Eau Claire Fest 2014
COLUMBIA, SC — Eau Claire Community Council and City of Columbia ramp up to present Eau Claire Fest 2014.
The “Famously Hot” City of Columbia is getting ready to house a little more fame! On Saturday, April 26th, 2014 at the corner North Main and Monticello the streets will be closed and all eyes will be on the main stage anticipating the dynamic, uplifting and powerful sounds of internationally acclaimed and award-winning gospel music singer, songwriter, author and actress, Martha Munizzi. Eau Claire Fest 2014, the free community festival sponsored by the Eau Claire Community Council and the City of Columbia, will have something for everyone including a 5K Fun Run, Fonky Fest Parade, Senior Village, KidZone, Main Street Marketplace, 5 entertainment stages (including an international stage) and more. Festivities get started at 11am.
Munizzi, an energetic and praise-filled woman of God, has captured the hearts of gospel music lovers with songs like “Say The Name”, “Glorious”, “Because Of Who You Are” and “Jesus Is The Best Thing (That’s Ever Happened To Me)”. A protégé of praise and worship icon Israel Houghton, Martha Munizzi has become a household name in the Christian music industry. Her pioneering cross-cultural style of worship music is the perfect addition to the eclectic and diverse festival taking place on the last Saturday in April. Eau Claire Fest 2014 focuses on the diversity of visual and performing arts and cultural traditions rooted in the former town of Eau Claire.
The festival activities and entertainment acts reflect the many faces and cultures found in Columbia’s historic community of Eau Claire. Through the vehicle of the festival the Eau Claire Community Council strives to promote exposure, literacy and encouragement in their community. Many of the residents of the area may not be able to go see the Black Cowboys of Rembert, SC, or experience the ancient art of belly dancing, to go horseback riding, to experience diverse cultures and cuisines, or to meet someone as young as them who has already accomplished more than they could imagine, like winning Jeopardy! So, Eau Claire Fest 2014 is bringing those experiences to them. As one member of the Eau Claire Community stated, “I can’t believe something like this is happening in my own backyard!” Eau Claire Fest 2014 opens its doors (on Saturday, April 26th to all surrounding communities in and outside of South Carolina to invite them (free of admission) to experience and enjoy the place where they Live, Work, Play, Worship”.
