LMES students invited to summer arts intensive
LEXINGTON, S.C. — Six Lake Murray Elementary School students will refine their talents during a summer arts intensive.
Eager to learn more about the areas of theater, visual arts and vocal performance, students audition for the Tri-District Arts Consortium, also known as Tri-DAC. Lexington County School District One partnered with two neighboring school districts in 1985 to form Tri-DAC, which provides students with additional training in the arts.
LMES fifth-graders were selected after competing for spots against sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.
LMES students participating in the three-week summer program include Fifth-Graders Wesley P. Blackburn for vocal, Baylee D. Blanks for theater and visual arts, Ainsley A. Davis for theater, Cayla E. Durnin for vocal, Tyler O. Pool for visual art, and Emma F. Taylor for visual art.
Students must first be nominated, submit a portfolio of artwork and writing samples if appropriate, and then audition for the opportunity to participate in Tri-DAC.
