KEENAN HIGH GRADUATE AWARDED 2015 STEVENSON MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Emmanuel Washington, a 2015 graduate of W.J. Keenan High School, has been awarded the Dr. John R. Stevenson Music Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a Richland One high-school senior who plans to pursue post-secondary study in music. The scholarship is named in honor of Richland One Superintendent Emeritus Dr. John R. Stevenson, who served as the district’s superintendent from 1986 to 1994. Dr. Stevenson is a member of the Richland One Hall of Fame.

Emmanuel, who is a percussionist, will attend Winthrop University where he plans to major in music education. His career goal is to be a music teacher. Emmanuel is the son of Terri Washington.
