KAELA HARMON ELECTED TO NATIONAL AIRPORT COMMITTEE
Kaela Harmon, Public Relations and Government Affairs Manager for the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, has been elected to the Airports Council International –North America (ACI-NA) Marketing and Communications Steering Group.
Harmon joins a select group of aviation media relations, customer service, marketing, and air service development industry leaders who provide support and guidance for ACI-NA’s work to bring about positive change and support for the airport community in North America.
Harmon became a part of the Columbia Metropolitan Airport team in February 2012 with the primary responsibility of overseeing the airport’s rebranding efforts and to reestablish the airport’s presence in the community. Her efforts have helped support increases in enplanements and passenger totals; and she has said that she is proud to be part of a team that has a genuine focus on informing and engaging the public and providing excellence in service to everyone who passes through the airport.
In the three short years that Harmon has been on the airport’s staff, she has worked tirelessly to gain a full understanding of the industry in order to maximize her effectiveness in her position. In 2014 she passed a comprehensive industry exam to become a certified member of American Association of Airport Executives and is currently in pursuit of industry accreditation.
Her election to the ACI-NA Marketing and Communications Steering Group will give Harmon an additional opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the aviation industry and continue Columbia Metropolitan Airport’s efforts to raise the national profile of both the airport and the communities that the airport serves.
