GREENVILLE CHAMBER’S MINORITY BUSINESS ACCELERATOR WINS MAJOR FUNDING FROM SBA
(Greenville, SC) The Greenville Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) has been named a winner of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) second annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition.
Winners were announced at the White House Demo Day hosted by President Obama on August 4th. Demo Day seeks to showcase the wide-ranging talents of innovators from across the country and inspire others to give every American the opportunity to pursue their bold, game-changing ideas. Each winning organization will receive $50,000 from the SBA.
According to Chamber President/CEO Ben Haskew, “It’s an honor to be recognized at a national level for the commitment our Chamber has made to innovative diversity and inclusion efforts. We will certainly utilize these resources to continue advancing and building on the successes of our Minority Business Accelerator program.”
The Minority Business Accelerator’s mission is to help accelerate the development and growth of high-potential minority business enterprises and to strengthen and expand the regional minority entrepreneurial community. The MBA stimulates the success of those organizations through business development services, mentoring, and access to large corporations for partnership opportunities. The MBA, now in its second year, is one of only five in the country.
