God Cares Charities: “Stuff-a-Truck”

God Cares Charities holds a “Stuff-a-Truck”, clothing donation drive.  The drive will take place starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4th, 2014, at 736 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, South Carolina.

Clothing that is crowding the closets of some will become the new found treasures of others.  God Cares Charities is mobilizing businesses, churches, schools, individuals and families, to Stuff a Truck full of clothing to support God Cares Programs. We will be collecting gently used clothing such as pants, dresses, shirts, blouses, shoes, hats, etc., for reuse.

On the same day, God Cares Charities will launch its third thrift store.  Proceeds from the event will go towards CARE vouchers, which are issued to low income individuals and families in need, and those affected by natural disasters, to be redeemed in God Cares Thrift Stores.  God Cares also focuses on helping individuals overcome barriers for employment.  These initiatives have already benefited many individuals and families in the community.

Revenues generated by the God Cares Thrift Stores, are recycled back into community programs. “God Cares is delighted to serve and partner with others to reinvest dollars back into the community. It’s an economic boomerang.  Donations and dollars that begin here ultimately circle back into the community to help those in need.” said Bishop Eric Davis, of God Cares. “The clothing drive is the inaugural event of our campaign for the community, with even more events in the coming months”

God Cares mission is to uplift and empower underserved communities through the knowledge that God truly does care and love them, and that the gospel transforms lives.
