Genice Hall Summers, Top Ten Business Women of the Year

The American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) named Genice Hall Summers, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and author of Happiness Diary- Discover Your Happy, one of the 2020 Top Ten Business Women of the Year.  The Top Ten Business Women of ABWA is a national program that honors ten outstanding members for achieving excellence in career, education and community involvement.  The recipient represents the Association, and all working women, as an Ambassador and an elite American Business Woman of ABWA.

Genice currently resides is Irmo. SC.  She is a 1984 graduate of Mid Carolina High School.  She continued her education earning a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Limestone College and Master of Social Work from University of South Carolina.  She is a PhD candidate at Capella University.  Genice’s professional credentials include: licensed independent social worker in South Carolina and North Carolina, licensed clinical supervisor; licensed/master addiction counselor, and national Academy of Certified Social Workers. Genice is a published author and business owner of 3C Counseling and Consulting where she specializes in contractual group facilitation, public speaking, and grant writing. She has serve as adjunct faculty at Piedmont Technical College (Newberry Branch) and University of South Carolina- College of Social Work. She is employed as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Genice has been a member of Columbia Triad Chapter of ABWA since 2007.  She served as President from 2017-19 and has chaired various committees including Scholarships, Membership, Business Associate Banquet, and Executive Board advisor.  She has been honored by Columbia Triad Chapter as 2009 Business Associate of the Year and 2010 Woman of the Year. She is active on a statewide level with South Carolina Area Council of ABWA, where she was recognized in Charleston, South Carolina as a Top Ten during American Business Women’s Conference and Business Expo.

“Top Ten candidates are a paradigm for ABWA members who strive for excellence in their careers, their communities, and in the Association,” says René Street, ABWA Executive Director. “It was a privilege to recognize these outstanding women this year at the National Women’s Leadership Conference in Kansas City, Missouri and to gain inspiration from their accomplishments.”

Genice is honored to be recognized as a leader in the business world and strives to continue to embrace the ABWA mission as she continues to grow personally and professionally, while inspiring others to do the same. She is looking forward to bringing working women of Newberry and surrounding areas together with an ABWA Charter Chapter in her hometown of Newberry, SC.
