(COLUMBIA) — Family Promise of the Midlands, a faith-based initiative that houses homeless families in local churches, will celebrate its first anniversary with a gala fundraiser Jan. 30 at 300 Senate St.
The event, Havana Nights, will feature light hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, a silent auction, and music by the popular band Heart ‘N Soul. Auction items include a Latin Holiday (airfare for two), custom-made jewelry, and artwork.
“This gala gives us a chance not only to celebrate our first year of service to families experiencing homelessness but also to raise money for our second year of operation,” said the Rev. Jill Duffield, board chair.
Tickets to Havana Nights are $75 per person or $125 per couple. They can be purchased via the organization’s website, www.familypromisemidlands.org or by calling 803-832-4765.
