Recently First graders of East Point Academy Elementary Campus invited their Grand Friends for a special day! All Grand Friends of our first graders were invited to attend East Point Academy’s annual Grand Friends’ Day. Grand Parents came and enjoyed a snack with their grandchild, meet their teachers, and learned about Mandarin immersion.
East Point Academy is a public school that is authorized by the South Carolina Public Charter School District but is classified as a charter school because it is allowed to set critical achievement standards at or above existing public schools. We are a small learning community that started with approximately 120 students.
This year, we have expanded to 400 students in 3K, 4K, 5K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. We will continue to add one grade level each year, up through the 8th grade.
East Point Academy provides students the personal attention and extra help they need to succeed in the classroom and in society through personalized learning in small classes, bilingual language instruction in English and Chinese by certified teachers, civic engagement, cultural and social awareness activities, and parent-school partnerships. All of our students benefit from a rigorous, innovative, and learner-centered curriculum, including inquiry-based instruction to acquire, organize, and communicate information and to solve problems.
