Dreher High School Girls’ Soccer Team Receives National Academic Award

Dreher High School’s varsity girls soccer team rules on the field and in the classroom. Not only are they reigning 3A state soccer champions, the team was recently awarded the 2014-2015 High School Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

The Lady Blue Devils soccer team was one of 398 teams nationwide recognized for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2014-2015 academic year. To qualify for this award, the team must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The GPA of Dreher’s team was 3.45.

Each year, the NSCAA recognizes high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their performance on the field. The NSCAA is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization with members at every level of the game, from professional to grassroots.
