Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, “75 Years of Service”

Columbia – The Columbia (SC) Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated held a community event to celebrate its 75 years of service in the Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Fairfield counties. On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the community event will “kicked-off” with a 10:00 a.m. parade starting at the Food Lion on Fairfield Road and ending at the Delta Life Development Center, located at the corner of Fairfield Road and Winmet Drive or Columbia (SC) Alumnae Place.

Following the parade featuring antique cars, public officials, community partners, Columbia Alumnae Delta presidents, and local marching bands, attendees benefited from:

* Free Glaucoma Screenings
* Voter registration
* Expungement and pardon information
* Food trucks
* Ask-a-Doc booth
* Flu-Shots
* Blood Pressure Screenings
* Healthy cooking demonstrations

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is an organization of college trained women committed to scholarship and service. Brenda Branic is president of the Columbia (SC) Chapter.
