Country Music Stars Headline Village at Sandhill’s Freedom Festival

Johnny Lee, Ronnie McDowell, Rides, and Fireworks Highlight Celebration

 Columbia, SC- Village at Sandhill’s “Freedom Festival presented by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union” returns on Friday, July 4th with a day of  rides from 1pm-10pm and free concerts featuring  legendary country artists Ronnie McDowell from 6pm-8:30pm, and Johnny Lee and The Urban Cowboy Band from 8:00pm-9:30pm. The evening will be capped off by the mid-state’s premier fireworks show at 9:30pm. Balloon art, a car show by the Wildhorses Mustang Car Club, and exhibits by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are also scheduled from 1pm-4pm.  All of the day’s activities and music are free and open to the public.

Johnny Lee and The Urban Cowboy Band are synonymous with the Urban Cowboy craze of the 1980’s. His 1980 single, Lookin’ for Love not only spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard country singles chart in the second half of 1980 but also went to the Top 5 on the Pop charts, and Top 10 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary survey.
