The Brookland Foundations 20th Anniversary and Color Pink Gala
An Evening with Artistic Extraordinaire Michael Israel
Columbia, SC – The Brookland Foundation will host Art in Motion – Art in Concert with world-renowned artist Michael Israel for the Brookland Foundation 20th Anniversary and Color Pink Gala, Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6 – 10 PM at Seawell’s Banquet Center, located at 1125 Rosewood Drive, Columbia, South Carolina.
World-renowned artist Michael Israel can be best described as Cirque du Soleil meets Picasso–an artist, entertainer, and humanitarian whose expression is part David Copperfield, part Jackson Pollack, part Jackie Chan, but all Michael Israel.
This evening will be one of pure delight and amazement. Mr. Israel’s performance will include gravity-defying leaps and high scaling launches that may be thought to be seemingly random splashes of paint that dance across canvasses in near constant motion. But what will seem like mere splashes will reveal larger-than-life images. Once complete, Michael will donate his finished art for auction during the gala. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on fabulous silent and live auction items and enjoy the delectable signature dishes of our state’s most accomplished chefs.
“We are elated to have Mr. Michael Israel at our 20th Anniversary and Color Pink Gala. Our annual gala raises awareness and funds for our five community programs, described Rev. Charles B. Jackson, Sr., Brookland Foundation’s Chairman. This year we are recognizing our Breast Cancer Survivors and honoring those who have made significant contribution to the Brookland Foundation over the past 20 years. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the artistic phenomenon while contributing to a worthy cause.”
Columbia, South Carolina will get a once in a lifetime experience with one of the world’s premier artist and humanitarians. Proceeds will benefit The Brookland Foundation five signature community programs.

The Brookland Foundation
The Brookland Foundation is a community-based, non-profit organization established in 1994 to extend outreach efforts to the Greater Columbia community. Recognizing a spiritual mandate to improve the community, the members of the Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia authorized an initial $100,000 endowment to establish the Foundation. The mission of the Brookland Foundation is to improve the lives of people by developing and promoting efforts to enhance their spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and economic well-being.
For more than 4 decades, beginning as a child in the early 60’s on the walls of his parent’s home, Michael Israel has ventured beyond the traditional and accepted styles and “norms” of art. Since then Michael’s work has touched millions. He has shared limelight with celebrities, CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, and world leaders alike. He has painted and presented at some of the world’s grandest venues including Grimaldi Fourm in Monte Carlo, the Olympic Medals stage in Salt Lake, and presidential events in Washington DC. Michael has helped inspire compassion and bring millions of dollars in support for numerous charities.
