The Brookland Baptist Church, West Columbia, SC, broke ground recently in the gravel parking lot directly across the street from the main Sanctuary, located at 1066 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia, SC. This event marked the beginning of Brookland’s Phase III-The Teen and Young Adult Christian Learning Center.

“It is our divine assignment as Christians to lead souls to Jesus Christ. It is the Assignment of the Brookland Baptist Church to build and prepare the next generation of believers. The seniors that have been with us since our time on Monticello Street are our foundation. The young adults in our congregation and our community are our motivation and our Youth and Teens are our inspiration. In that regard, I have committed the remaining years of my pastoral ministry at the Brookland Baptist Church to preparing the next generation of believers. God’s Assignment for Brookland is based on Psalm 78:4 (NIV), “We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders He has done.” – Pastor Charles B. Jackson

Investing in the Next Generation

Phase III marks the final phase and completion of the vision given to Pastor Charles B. Jackson, Sr. for development of the Brookland Baptist Church Campus. Phase I was the construction of the large sanctuary. Phase II was the development of the Community Resource Center, Brookland Academy, Health & Wellness Center, and the Banquet & Conference Center. Phase III will focus on providing classrooms, activity rooms, and administrative offices. The two year capital campaign kicked off Sunday, February 7, 2016 with a goal of raising $5 million.

Phase III will include space to support all Brookland Baptist Church ministries and programs. The primary focus is the Christian Learning Center; a suitable and relevant space from which the Youth & Teens and Young Adults can come together in fellowship and to work towards expanding the reach of God’s kingdom through effective ministry and outreach.
