Brandolyn Thomas Pinkston

Brandolyn Thomas Pinkston, former Administrator of the SC Department of Consumer Affairs, was  Laity Sunday Speaker at I DeQuincey Newman United Methodist Church.  The 2015 global theme for Laity Sunday in the United Methodist Church is Disciples Called to Action:  Creating Unity in Mission. This is a perfect topic for us in South Carolina, given the horrific devastations that occurred as a result of the flood. The unprecedented rain, floods and devastation throughout much of South Carolina required true disciples to spring into action.  The theme for Laity Sunday could not be more appropriate to address the devastation many citizens are facing.  It is our mission to help those in need and to be our brother’s keeper.

Mrs. Pinkston brought a dynamic message filled with hope and renewed commitment to strengthen our faith and belief in helping our fellowman said Dr. Julia Boyd, Lay Leader, I D Newman UMC.   The public is always invited to I DeQuincey Newman UMC.  Services begin each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. 7801 Wilson Blvd. Columbia, SC, Rev. Dr. Walter McKelvey, Pastor.
