Annual Kwanzaa Celebration

The Columbia Association of Black Social Workers will host its Annual Kwanzaa Celebration on Monday, December 29th from 6-8 pm at the Eau Claire Print Building, 3907 Ensor Avenue.They are partnering with KRST Universal Temple, ASCAC, Kemetic Institute and the SC Association of Black Psychologists to present an enriching and informative event.

The program will focus on the Nguza Saba Principle of “Ujamaa” which means cooperative economics and includes African drummers & dancers, pouring of libations, the meaning of Kwanzaa ceremony, a skit, vendors and more. Ethnic foods will be served. Afrocentric attire encouraged.

Also, come out to support the Community Kwanzaa Celebration on Saturday, December 27th from Noon to 3 pm at the Katherine Bellfield/Washington Heights Community Center Auditorium (formerly Sarah Nance School)–located off Beltline Boulevard.

Both cultural events are FREE, family-oriented and open to the public.
