7th Annual Israel Brooks Memorial Golf Tournament
It is NOT too late to support the 7th Annual Israel Brooks Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for Monday, October 13th (Columbus Day) at The Woodlands Golf and Country Club, 100 Norse Way, Columbia 29229. Attached is the sponsorship/registration form.
We are pleased to announced that one lucky golfer may be the winner of the Hole-In-One Grand Prize of $10,000 on Hole 14 or a bonus Hole in One prize on the other Par 3s. Team registration is $300 and Single is $75. The Artist Bernard will also feature some of his golf artwork at the event and has donated one of his selections as a door prize. The artwork will be on display in the Fellowship Hall of Saint John Baptist Church, 3404 West Beltline Boulevard, on next Sunday, October 12th immediately following the 10 am worship services.
The tournament is named in honor of the late Major Israel Brooks, Jr.–the first African-American Trooper in South Carolina and a US Marshal–who loved the game of golf. He was a deacon at Saint John Baptist Church, an advocate for education and champion for youth. Proceeds from the tournament will provide scholarships to high school students in pursuit of educational excellence.
Good News: Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin have been invited to join us; Sports Commentator Rick Henry of WIS-TV has again agreed to be our Honorary Starter; Pastor Jamey O. Graham will be playing; Bobby Gist will moderate the Awards Luncheon Ceremony AND the Brooks Family will be on hand for a day of fun and celebration.
We look forward to hearing from you today!! You may fax the attached form to 803.256.3831, scan & email it back to this email or simply give me a call to make other arrangements.
