COLUMBIA, SC – The 17th annual Eau Claire Unity Festival will kick off Saturday, September 10 2016 at Hyatt Park. This year’s annual event will continue with the theme successfully launched last year adding “unity” to the title. The “Unity” slant is particularly appropriate in light of the recent occurrences of violence in the country. The Eau Claire Unity Festival aims to unify and heal the City of Columbia with a multi-cultural and non-denominational Unity Circle featuring the singing of “We are the World”! Area Churches, Sororities, Fraternities, Organizations and Individuals are encouraged to bring their groups to participate in this unique symbol of solidarity!
The Eau Claire Community Council, which sponsors the festival has planned a full day of family-friendly events that bring together the diversity of the North Columbia Neighborhood and the City of Columbia as a whole! Patrons are invited to enjoy delicious food, various vendors and children of all ages will have fun with the mascots, games and activities in the Kids Zone. The Eau Claire Unity Festival is also a Music Lovers paradise where everyone can find their favorite type of music. Gospel, Latin, Jazz, Rock and Reggae are represented at the Eau Claire Unity Festival including Columbia’s premier guitarist; Terence Young, popular Rock Band –The Mo Bro’s, The Palmetto Latin Jazz Band, The Reggie Sullivan Project, Coolie G and Lion Soul plus Gospel Groups, Pastor Shawn Jones and the Believers, The Chosen Ones and Rev Mickens and the Highway Travelers.
