Local Women’s Minor League Basketball Association Team to Host Open Tryouts in Columbia

The Carolina Stars of the Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA) will host their free-agent tryouts on April 30, 2017 from 10:00a.m. to 6:00pm. at Spring Valley High School located at 120 Sparkleberry Lane, Columbia, SC 29229.

In its first year, the Carolina Stars is one of nine franchise teams in the WMLBA, which will begin its inaugural season this summer. The WMLBA is a minor league basketball associations for women designed to help players prepare to play in the WNBA.

Those interested in trying out may register online at www.carolinastars.info until April 23, 2017.

Walk-up registration will be available on the morning of April 30 on a first-come, first-serve basis until capacity is reached. Walk-up participants will be required to complete a registration form and pay a $75 nonrefundable registration fee, cash only.

Player check in will take place from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m and tryouts will be from 12:30p.m. to 6:00p.m.

This will be the second invitational tryout of the Carolina Stars’ inaugural season. The general public and others interested may also watch the tryouts for only $1.
