Tennis Coach Domino Boulware was recognized by Columbia City Council at its regular meeting for his induction into the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame.
Coach Boulware was one of two 2017 inductees who were honored by the USTA South Carolina and the South Carolina Tennis Patrons Foundation at the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame banquet held recently in Hilton Head.
“We are very proud of Coach Boulware and are thrilled to see that his hard work and dedication to the tennis profession and the Greenview community has been recognized by the USTA South Carolina,” Columbia Parks & Recreation Director Randy Davis said. “Boulware has made a tremendous impact on our youth and in the Greenview community.”
Boulware has served as a tennis coach at Greenview Park and at various schools throughout the Midlands for more than 30 years, and was instrumental in developing the tennis program at Greenview.
He also founded the Bolden/Martin Math and Science Camp and established the DD& J Junior Tennis Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to teach young people of all ages and economic circumstances the skill of tennis competition, and to use the power of the game to build character, support educational achievement and to reduce juvenile problems that lead to delinquency, teen pregnancy and other social ills.
