ACE LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM TO PROMOTE LEADERSHIP DIVERSITY
(Greenville, SC) The Greenville Chamber’s fifth annual ACE Leadership Symposium was held at TD Convention Center recently for lunch featuring a keynote presentation by Marcus Shaw, Senior Director of Business Development, Management Leadership for Tomorrow.
Leadership diversity is critical to the achievement of the Greenville Chamber’s vision of a globally competitive Upstate economy where businesses succeed and people prosper. The ACE Leadership Symposium is designed to send the strong message to the community that in order to advance minority leadership including mid- to senior level appointments and corporate/nonprofit board service, there must be a concerted effort to advocate for this cause and collaborate to ensure multicultural leaders are successful so that they can excel personally and in their endeavors to contribute to their organizations.
According to Marcus Shaw, “Building a critical mass of diverse professionals throughout the leadership pipeline is critical to the future growth of all organizations. We must all do our part to create an environment that increases a sense of belonging and contribution by our future leaders.”
The Chamber actively supports talented women and multicultural professionals in our community in achieving leadership positions in greater numbers. The ACE Leadership Symposium is one of two initiatives the Chamber presents annually to advance leadership diversity. In the fall, the Chamber will host the ATHENA Leadership Symposium designed to advance women’s leadership and corporate board service.
The Chamber is expecting approximately 500 multicultural professionals and majority leaders from an array of public and private sectors. Registration is $35 for Chamber Investors/$50 General Admission and the deadline to register is April 16th. Registration and additional details are online at www.greenvillechamber.org.
